About Fjord Line
Fjord Line is a Norwegian ferry company based in Egersund on the country's south-west coast. It was founded in 1993 and is today, after Color Line, the second-largest ferry operator between Denmark and Norway. For travellers heading to western Norway, it's the decisive one: no other direct ferry sails to Bergen.

Two ways to Norway
Both routes start in the Danish town of Hirtshals at the northern tip of Jutland. The long route continues via Stavanger to Bergen, connecting two western Norwegian cities with the continent in one crossing. The short route to Kristiansand crosses the Skagerrak in a few hours and runs year-round; on it, Fjord Line competes directly with Color Line.
The former Sandefjord - Strömstad connection between Norway and Sweden was discontinued by the company in October 2023.
Fleet
The backbone of the fleet is the two sister ships MS Stavangerfjord from 2013 and MS Bergensfjord from 2014. Both are RoPax ferries carrying passengers, vehicles and freight, and both run on liquefied natural gas, a rarity in ferry operations when they entered service. On board there are cabins in several categories, restaurants, bars and a shop.
For the short route to Kristiansand there's also the Fjord FSTR, built in 2020, a high-speed ferry that crosses the Skagerrak considerably faster than the conventional ships. The timetable shows how long each connection takes on your travel day.
